that Amulet of Amon-Ra is up for an award? Well, it is.

Leslie Carmichael's book has been nominated for a Prix Aurora Award from the Canadian Science Fiction/Fantasy community. Kind of like the Nebula's here, this is a big deal thing up north of the US border.

Congratulations Leslie! I checked out the contest but the link to her entry was broken:( Her book looks like something I would enjoy though- I love books that take place in different times in history! Thanks for the heads up.

Great news for Leslie.
My book The Kulak's Daughter is also nominated for book of the year for young people award in Manitoba - I'll find out on the weekend, but just being nominated is a prize in itself!
