Party

Today is party day, so I don't have time to do a long post. Hopefully I'll have some video of the party to post tonight, but I don't have anything right now.

But I do have a writing prompt for everyone. At most book release parties, there is a question and answer period, and the following question is almost always asked. So consider your own answer:

What inspired you to write your book?

I've always been amazed by the strength and dignity of frontier women. As a former teacher, I've wondered about children with learning disabilities and how they might have been handled at an earlier time.

These two ideas led to my historical novel-in-verse, MAY B.

I wrote WAITING TO SEE THE PRINCIPAL AND OTHER POEMS because I like teaching poetry and writing poems for my students. They suggested that I put them in a book and publish them. When I got near retirement, I did exactly that.
